History of Sisarina Inc
Sisarina Inc is a full service web marketing company serving clients of all shapes and sizes. We specialize in helping companies fulfill their full potential through branding, web design and strategic marketing. We know that you are in business because you fill a need that others have. Our ultimate goal is to give you the tools to find those customers so you can spend your time doing what you do best.
In 2001, Melanie Spring, Principal & Project Director of Sisarina, found a need to help entrepreneurs find their way online. The web was becoming the place to find what consumers were looking for and smaller businesses were suffering due to not having a presence online. Working with bulk food stores, Industrial Development agencies, vacation rental companies, rural colleges and so many others, Sisarina was able to find customers where they had not been found before. This also allowed Sisarina to become the place to go for web branding.
As the web became a place for entrepreneurs to build their own websites, Sisarina found that many businesses struggled with their identity. Companies seemed to think that if they just put up a website, people would find them and want their products. This wasn’t the case. The Do-It-Yourself entrepreneurs were using templates for their logos, their business cards and their websites causing their identity to not really be their own.
Sisarina decided it was time for businesses of all sizes to get the identity they deserve. Creating an affordable solution for your business, whether you are an entrepreneur needing a new identity or a well-established company needing a rebrand or new product launch, became Sisarina's mission. Starting with the design of your logo and branding setup, putting together business cards and marketing materials and then creating a website that matches is where everything starts. After the pieces are together, you still have to market yourself. Sisarina can help by setting up a marketing plan, getting you acquainted with social media and optimizing your website for maximum exposure. We’re not just a web design company, we are an identity company.
What does 'Sisarina' mean?
Many people ask where the word 'Sisarina' came from and tend to almost giggle when they find out. When Melanie was 3, she had a little sister who was only a year old. As an imaginative child, she wanted someone to play with while her mom took care of her little sister. An imaginary friend appeared one day named Sisarina. Although this friend stuck around until Melanie went to kindergarten, her name lived on. While Melanie brainstormed for a creative, imaginative name for her web marketing company, her mother reminded her of her imaginary friend. Thus, the imaginative company Sisarina was appropriately named.
Networking Events in the DC Metro Area
Aside from marketing, Sisarina also hosts "non"-networking events for those on Twitter in the Washington, D.C. Metro area. These events include #DCTweetup for business professionals, friends and neighbors & #DCTwirlies for the 'girlies'. We are proud to help attract new patrons to locally-owned restaurants like Visions, Georgetown Bagelry and others. We work to actively engage small business owners in participating and hosting events. These events are free and can be found in the Events section. We hope to see you at one soon!
