In the 1940's, a "Gal Friday" was a female assistant who handled the paperwork at the office on a Friday as the owner usually did not have enough work to hire a secretary or receptionist full-time. She would type up reports and business letters via typewriter, file, post letters and take care of billing by the close of the business week. Her job was to take care of everything the owner did not have time to do during his busy work week. Sisarina Services Girl Friday services are a spin-off of this idea.
