Mind Your P's & Q's
Social media has been a hot topic for the last few years and many have jumped in head first not realizing that everything they say and do can come back to haunt them. It all started with what people posted on Facebook and now it's all about the 140-characters used to share snippets of life and news.
Social media isn't just about twitter and Facebook though... it's about blogging, microblogging, events, online advocacy and so much more. With all the instant news that's going around, businesses, non-profits and individuals have to be careful not to step on feet while still sharing their views and voicing concerns. How do you find the right balance?
With a Social Media Manager now on staff, Sisarina has setup a series for the month of May about social media etiquette that will include:
- making your business profile work-friendly
- how to create a following
- how to approach 'friending'
- how much is too much
- being too personal
- how to share your views without being offensive
- finding a good balance
- cutting the snark
- listening
- promotioning your business (AKA not promoting your business)
- sharing is caring
...and more.
