I’m certain when you decided to become an entrepreneur, it wasn’t strictly because you wanted to become a millionaire, but rather you had a desire to share something with someone. As an entrepreneur, you need to continuously tap into that original feeling that got you where you are today.
Entrepreneurship, among other things, is an opportunity to listen for your voice and express your passion. I started my business because I love helping people look good, assisting others with finding what really worked for their body and personality, and I was great at it! I decided to venture from my high paying job as an operational expert in health care revenue cycle not because I thought I could make millions, but I thought I could create a new and better quality of life. I continued my pursuit, and started a style blog under the same name so that I could share my experience and insight with anyone who would listen and who needed to hear it.
I just found a new way to express my passion for helping others feel good about themselves that would allow me more time to connect with friends, enjoy more sunrises, and participate in more activities that would help me grow as a person and a professional. Becoming an entrepreneur was about listening to my inner voice that bubbled up every time I got to help someone get dressed, look better or clean out their closet….and remaining true to that voice.
Oftentimes, entrepreneurship isn’t the easiest road but the road less traveled. We can become tired of always being on the “grustle” (grind + hustle) for new business and opportunities; and sometimes, the result is that we get off track from our calling and passion. STOP! LISTEN! Ask for help or support from friends or other entrepreneurs who have likely been down the same road. I find that when I struggle about a decision, it’s usually because it’s outside of my calling, purpose and passion. Why is it you struggle with your decision?
We were all put here for a purpose and when you can find what you are passionate about, give it an honest try. The money will come…eventually. Entrepreneurship is about YOU listening to your inner voice; and having OTHERS reap the benefits of your passion.
