I loathed school. However, I LOVE learning. Tomorrow is the first time I will step into a classroom in 10 years and I'm hoping it's nothing like the first time around.
Joiwind Ronen of Ethos Strategy, a consultant for the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, approached me about being a part of Georgetown's Executive Certification course for branding and marketing. I was tickled and accepted on the promise I would fully participate and give my honest feedback afterward. The fact that I get to be a part of a course with some of the top professors in the country at one of the most prestigious universities in the world makes this private liberal arts college grad beam with excitement.
Entrepreneurs are my passion but branding gets me amped up.
With 13 readings, case studies, 3 highly-acclaimed professors, and a small class size, the course talks about how CEO's can't blame the marketing team for things they themselves don't know anything about. Branding comes from the inside out and top down. More and more companies are seeing how important their brand identity is and are finally giving themselves a chance to succeed.
Speaking about the importance of branding with my clients daily, I see the successes and failures due to good and bad branding before they even happen. Being able to take the information this course offers back to work with me will only allow me to give clearer, more refined information to the fantastic clients I have the privilege of working with.
My plan: to take copious amounts of notes and transfer them into a blog & plethora of tweets over the next three days. Follow along live with me via #BrandAdvantage on Twitter from 9am-4:30pm April 24-26.
...and no, I won't be working until after 4:30pm this Tues-Thurs. I promised Joiwind. ;)
